Chiaroscuro
An Italian term meaning “light-dark.” It refers to the use of strong contrasts between light and dark to give the illusion of volume in modeling three-dimensional objects and figures.
Acrylic Paint
A fast-drying paint made of pigment suspended in acrylic polymer emulsion. It can be diluted with water but becomes water-resistant when dry.
Vanishing Point
In perspective drawing, it is the point at which receding parallel lines viewed in perspective appear to converge.
Collage
An art technique where various materials such as paper, fabric, and photographs are assembled and glued to a surface to create a new work.
